The Harriman, A Viceroy Resort

Opening June 2026

Viceroy is proud to announce the debut of The Harriman, A Viceroy Resort, slated to open in June 2026 in the heart of Idaho’s legendary ski town, Sun Valley. Located at 300 River Street East in Ketchum, this will be the region’s first boutique luxury hotel to open in over 10 years. The resort will bring Viceroy's modern approach to luxury and culturally-attuned sensibility to one of the country’s most storied, year-round mountain destinations.

The Harriman, A Viceroy Resort is named after W. Averell Harriman, who founded Sun Valley in 1936 as the country’s first destination ski resort to attract travelers west via the Union Pacific Railroad. The resort honors his bold vision and lasting influence on American ski culture and mountain resort development.

Anchored in nature and adventure, The Harriman will feature 73 guest rooms and 12 private residences, offering guests and owners an elevated boutique alpine experience just minutes from the slopes. The property’s expansive amenities will include a 6,000-square foot full-service spa, a 1,500-square-foot fitness center, an outdoor terraced swimming pool with cabanas, and an observatory and night sky viewing deck designed to soak in Sun Valley’s famously starry skies.

Designed to feel like an extension of one’s own living room, The Harriman, A Viceroy Resort will be a welcoming environment where the community can come together to share meals, stories, and moments.

A curated food and beverage program will feature a variety of distinct concepts, including a full-service restaurant and bar with outdoor dining and fire pits, a bakery and coffee shop, a poolside bar, and 3,725 square feet of flexible event space. Throughout all concepts, strong partnerships with local purveyors, including ranchers, fisherman, and farmers aim to celebrate the region’s highest quality farm-to-table ingredients.

The Harriman, A Viceroy Resort is partnering with Fatima Design Group, led by the talented Fatima Silva, whose refined aesthetic joins the ranks of Viceroy's roster of world-class designers including Meyer Davis, Rockwell Group, and Design Agency. Architecture is being led by De Reus Architects, celebrated for their ability to blend regional character with elevated, contemporary design.
