Horseback Riding

Saddle up for a guided trail ride through the scenic landscapes of Aldeia da Tôr near Loulé. This equine experience, tailored for an intimate group of up to five at the nearby Monte Da Ribeira stables, will allow you to enjoy the bucolic views of the countryside from horseback. Following the guided excursion, you have the option to stay on for an epicurean picnic. All equipment will be provided and your riding experience level will be assessed via a questionnaire before your visit. Depending on your level of experience, our instructors can also walk alongside you to ensure your comfort and enjoyment. 

Located 2.7 kilometers drive from the resort, the stable can be reached by either car or bicycle within five minutes or we can provide a transfer.

Picnic on the Property

Make the most of property during your stay with a picnic on the resort grounds. Our kitchen team will prepare a picnic basket packed with the best of the local cuisine including a variety of freshly baked artisan breads, local cheeses and charcuterie, seasonal fruit, and Algarvian sweets, accompanied by your choice of wine, sparkling wine, and refreshing drinks. Everything can be customized to suit your dietary preferences, so, all that’s left for you to do is choose your perfect picnic spot on the resort’s scenic 150 hectares.

Honey Harvesting Workshop

Thanks to its unique biodiversity and temperate climate, Portugal is home to a thriving bee community and produces a variety of unique honeys that include rosemary, heather and chestnut, and Algarvean carob honey. Join local honey producers in the Serra do Caldeirão mountains for a guided hive-to-table beekeeping experience and learn about the crucial role that bees play in sustaining the local ecosystem, the inner workings of hives, and the art of beekeeping, all from a safe vantage point. Along with a honey tasting you can try your hand at extracting honey from the honeycomb.

Pottery Workshop

Portugal abounds with beautifully crafted, colorful pottery that combines centuries-old techniques with traditional and modern finishes. Design-lovers inspired by the local offerings can join local ceramic artist José Conceição, a member of Loulé’s vibrant arts and craft scene, for a pottery making workshop in our on-site studio during which he will guide you through the basics of working with clay, demonstrate the various techniques, and help you to create your own piece of authentic Portuguese clayware. Once fired in the kiln, your unique pottery piece will be delivered in your room– an artful keepsake of your time in the Algarve.

Shepherding Tour

The tradition of shepherding runs deep in Portuguese culture and the Algarve is famed for its unique breed of domestic sheep, known as the Algarve Churro or Churra Algarvia, which were traditionally raised for milk used in cheesemaking. Step into the rhythm of rural life and join local shepherd and artisanal cheesemaker  Idálio Martins as he guides his herd, sharing insights into the age-old, regional tradition of shepherding along the way. With a walking stick in hand, journey through scenic Algarve landscape and try your hand at leading the flock home with the help of his trusty sheepdogs.

Weaving Workshop

Throughout the Algarve you will see woven mats, baskets, decorative and utilitarian objects, and even sandals made from Esparto–a strong fiber produced from a perennial grass native to Portugal. In this workshop led by experienced local artisans from the Loulé Criativo, an initiative dedicated to preserving the traditional arts and crafts of the region, you can learn the art of Esparto grass weaving and create your own unique piece to bring home as an artful reminder of your stay in the Algarve.
